NEW SURF CENTRE ON MAUI
March 1st the Kanaha Kai Surf Center is opening its doors on Maui. The founders Jeffrey Henderson, Bart de Zwart and Dana Cagen and Hisao Nagazato aim to re-energize windsurfing on Maui.
The main focus is to serve windsurfers at all levels, offering retail and rental products and repair services. Special emphasizes is put on beginners, women and children. Beginners will find the largest entry level fleet on Maui and the opportunity to book lessons with Maui’s premium windsurfing schools.
Women and children have access to specially designed equipment and benefit from our professional consultation.
The company was founded and will be operated by active windsurfers. Jeffrey Henderson founder of Hot Sails Maui is one of the sports top innovators. Bart de Zwart has been a 10 year member of the test team of German “surf” magazine and manager of surf centers in Venezuela and Greece. Dana Cagen has more than 25 years of experience in action sports retail and rental management and is a PSI (Professional Ski Instructor) national examiner. The team is completed by Japan’s most famous windsurfer Hisao Nagazato. Hisao is a household name in Japan as he is one of the only Japanese sailor to have sailed Jaws. He has windsurfing & surfing schools in Japan as well.
The location of the new center, at 96 Amala Place in Kahului, Maui, is the closest commercial building to Kanaha Beach and Kite Beach. Only 300 meters from Kite Beach and less than 600 meters from Kanaha Beach Park. People going to Kanaha Beach won’t miss the impressive building and KKSC is the only shop where you can drive from the beach without stopping at a traffic light! Plenty of shaded parking is available.
Beside the full service windsurf center the location will include the international headquarters of Hot Sails Maui and John Holzhall’s Kiteboardcenter.
Plan on renting all 2005 gear this summer at Kanaha Kai Surf Center!
