The South Coast’s Largest Windsurfing Event
May 3/4 2003
For the sixth year running, Britain’s most successful windsurfing
demonstration weekend will be held at West Wittering beach. There will be
over Â£100,000 of new windsurfing kit to test.
Over the two day event, all the major manufacturers will be displaying
their products and allowing members of the public to try windsurfing
equipment free of charge, everything from a beginners board to the latest
wave board .
For 2003 we have a land based kite test zone, a beginners windsurfing
zone, a beginners kitesurfing zone and there will be having expression
sessions from Kitesurfing Pros Neal Gent, Jason Furness and
Andrea Wharry , and windsurfing Chris Audsley (UK Champion), Stu Holland
and Jem Hall will be on the water.
We will also be having on land simulator sessions with coach Jem Hall
during the weekend. All the activities and times will be on the 2XS website,
This year booking will not be required, so if you want to try any of the
windsurfing kit or test the land based kites, just turn up to the beach
and see us at the windsurfing club. On the beach the equipment will be
available for testing from 10.00am through to 5.00pm on both days – brands
available F2, Mistral, Fanatic, AHD, RRD, JP, Maui Project, Quattro,
Starboard, Neil Pryde, North Sails, Ezzy, Arrows, Sailworks, Drops,
Tushingham, Gaastra – Kite equipment from: Flexifoil, Cabrinha, RRD,
Slingshot, North, Fanatic, Lost Cause, Brunotti, and Wipika.
The RNLI will also be on site with information about their organisation
,and explaining more about safety at sea for windsurfers and kiters.
Saturday night we have the 2XS/Flexifoil party, eat some fine food, drink
plenty of beer and listen to some fine tunes – we have live music and a DJ
for this year. Tickets available from 2XS. Free camping on site,
breakfast will also be available.
