Former PWA World Tour and UK British Champion Jamie Hawkins is pleased to announce his new partnership with top board manufacturer JP Australia for the forthcoming 2010 season.
Having spent many successful years within the Pryde team both internationally and nationally Jamie has seen the compatibility of the NeilPryde and JP brands as the opportunity he needs give his sailing and competitiveness that vital edge. “It just makes a lot of sense from a marketing point of view, being under one umbrella. I love the JP Quad waveboards and it’s so nice to have all the wavesailing knowledge and practice of Polakow and Seadi when you’re bottom turning, these waveboards just love to be on a rail, and in the most critical sections. The JP / Pryde team work hard to create the best and most innovative products to the mass market windsurfing population.”
Jamie’s focus for the coming season will actually lie away from his traditional racing strengths and he will be looking to rediscover and build on his grass-roots love of windsurfing, searching out some great locations and conditions across the globe. “There are a lot of race events this year which is awesome, especially under the new management of the BSA, but I have had a busy few years with work and play and I just fancied taking it back to what I really love. Wavesailing is what I love to do the most, winning races is awesome and i will be looking to get back to that next year. For 2010 I’ll be looking to pick the best locations when it’s windy and get out on the water with a true waterman’s spirit with kitesurfing, surfing and stand-up paddleboarding being a few of the disciplines I want to build on. Cape Verde, Costa Rica and Chilli are all on the cards. I will be doing the wave events as well and hopefully I will get a few more days’ training before the first event this year. I will also be working very closely with JP / Pryde this season on my local beaches demoing kit and promoting. See you on the water!”
JP / Pryde / Animal are proud sponsors of Jamie for 2010
