Lagoon Watersports’s taster sessions raise money for RNLI
Last weekend (Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th July) Lagoon Watersports raised £500 for the RNLI with their taster windsurfing and sailing lessons at Hove Lagoon centre.
200 adults and children donated £5 to have a go at a new sport and also help raise money for this important charity.
The taster sessions, which lasted 90 minutes, gave people the opportunity to try these fun watersports, with guidance and training from Lagoon Watersports’ instructors.
Harvey Dawkins, MD for Lagoon Watersports, said: “It was great to have so many people come down and give windsurfing and sailing a try.
“The response afterwards was excellent and many people have already signed up for more lessons.
“The RNLI is a hugely worthwhile charity and important for all watersports users, so to be able to give them something back is great.”
The taster sessions were held to coincide with the Paddle Round The Pier Beach Festival, which took place last weekend on nearby Hove Lawns. Many of the people who tried the taster sessions had done so after speaking to Lagoon Watersports staff on their stand in the ‘Paddle Village’.
