Course Aim: RYA Intermediate non-planing/Planing
Minimum Standard: Be able to sail across the wind and turn the board around in light winds
Our Windsurfing Improver week is perfect for those who are reasonably comfortable on a board, can perform basic tacks and gybes and want to take their windsurfing to the next level.
During the week our experienced windsurfing instructors will teach you faster turning techniques, control is higher winds, beach starts and will introduce you to the harness and footstraps.
The course will introduce you to the RYA Fastfwd coaching model. Using the five key elements of the model; Vision, Trim, Balance, Power and Stance, you will be coached to develop early planing techniques, whilst improving your stance, harness work and getting into the footstraps, all leading towards faster planing and improved transitions, in your tacks and gybes.
You will also develop a greater awareness of what’s happening to you and your equipment whilst you’re out on the water.
Kit and Clothing
Plas Menai provides all necessary kit, equipment and personal protective clothing including wetsuits, buoyancy aids, cagoules and waterproofs, however you are very welcome to bring your own if you wish.

This course is Non-Residential. If you would like to book as a resident, please add the five night residential package under ‘Optional Extras’ when booking. The residential package includes five nights’ accommodation and full board for the duration of your stay.
