In response to the growing number of women becoming active in windsurfing, Neilson
is introducing women-only tuition sessions, and specialist equipment for all
of their surf, sail and cycle destinations from summer 2001. The new Tushingham
designed sail, the "Elle", was first tested at Neilson’s windsurfing
centre in Grenada. It is the first high performance surf sail to be designed
for sailors between 3’10"-5’8". Its lighter frame and basic outline
has proved very popular with women and as a result Neilson is now including
it at all their resorts, to complement their large range of ‘normal’ windsurfing
gear. Pete Tyler, Neilson Managing director, comments: "There has been
a definite move towards more women wishing to take part in windsurfing. Providing
specialist equipment and tuition means that strength and weight are no longer
an issue."

Neilson offer Surf, Sail and Cycle holidays in 10 locations in the Caribbean,
Spain, Greece and Turkey. All the centres are RYA approved, and qualified Neilson
