Steve Allen/Fanatic wins FW European Open Championships 2003!
The Petit Navre 2003 European FW Championships took place from the 3rd till
8th May in France, Douarnenez. After five tough races, Fanatic’s Steve
Allen emerged as the winner!
After finishing second at the same event last year in Portugal, Steve was
more than happy to add this title to his collection, one of only two that
he did not win in 2002.
Steve Allen AUS-0: "The contests started slowly and took long with a lot
of
general recalls but on race day two we had an excellent day of racing. With
four races I stayed strong and consistent in such a big fleet, very hard to
get good, clean starts, but I went really well. Last two days we did not
have good enough wind for racing. I kept strongly focused and positive for
more racing, to be ready. I think it was a super tough fleet and the
strongest European event ever with so many international competitors great
Championships. This was my goal this year to win this Championship, as this
is the title I have not had yet, so I am very, very happy!"
