First event of the European Freestyle Pro Tour attracts top international windsurfers
Andre Paskowski G-2 from Germany wins the first event of the European Freestyle Pro Tour before top stars Gollito Jose Perez V-1 and Cheo Diaz V-34, both from Venezuela. Also very impressive was the performance of European Champion, Matteo Guazzoni, I-711 from Italy who took a close fourth place behind the two guys from Venezuela.
Conditions were exceptional good at the first day of the event which was held in Hyeres, France. With 22-25 knots of wind the crowds were entertained by the top riders who performed in exciting heats which had a high standard. In the half finals, riders from 7 different nationalities were competing against eachother. The number of Italian and Frence riders was exceptional, however only European champion Matteo Guazzoni qualified for the finals. Andre Paskowski, however was the champion of the first stop of the EFPT. He impressed the judges with his various freestyle skills which made him an outstanding winner at the end of the first day.
Due to the lack of wind no more heats were held and therefore Andre Paskowski could celebrate his first victory of the season and leads the ranking of the Tour. Andre will travel to Austria next week, for the second event of the tour, where he will try to hold his ranking and gather more points for the EFPT championships.
