Being A Butterfly

The Butterfly Effect is a movement helping and encouraging water women, set up by windsurfer Tatiana Howard. Boards caught up with Tati to check out her favourite photos from this year’s action, plus find out the top 5 reasons to be a Butterfly!

1. Travel

The Butterfly Effect World Tour lands on amazing countries each year including:

Maui, Hawaii

Cabarete, Dominican Republic

Tahiti

Switzerland

Italy

Morocco

Although The Butterfly Effect is based from a non-competitive event for women in water sports, The Butterfly Effect offers trip options along with instructional workshops and camps!

Traveling with The Butterfly Effect is a unique opportunity because all you have to worry about is your flight and the rest is organised for you! The BE trips include airport transfers, accommodation, coaching, visiting, community give back sessions, local guiding and activities that allow you to see a new location in the eye of the locals.

2. Inspire

BE a part of the international water women movement that inspires women and kids of all levels to get out on the water and to try something new. Its all about being out in nature and enjoying the sports without any barriers of level, experience, culture, language, age, looks, or sport.

3. Empower

The Butterfly Effects goal is to empower women through the confidence and courage they gain in sports. It is a platform to help empower in other activities they do in every day life such as in work, school, and other challenging issues that may come up.

4. Give back

Get involved with local communities world wide. Each Butterfly Effect has a community give back session ranging in free surf lessons, beach clean up, donation of foods and clothes, fundraising efforts and more! The BE women activate action for the betterment of communities!

5. Spread Aloha

Maui, Hawaii is where The Butterfly Effect first began, and a major part in each event worldwide is to continue that “Aloha” spirit vibe no matter where in the world the BE takes place. One smile to another, one caring thought or gesture, one helping hand…Aloha – Pass it on!
