Ilovesailing Facebook photo and video competition – get posting and you could be a winner
Firstly don’t let the name fool you, you don’t have to sail a yacht or a dinghy to take part, if you love windsurfing then the RYA’s ilovesailing Facebook competition is for you.
We’ve all got those fantastic photos from out on the water, video shorts of us whizzing around mac 10 loving every minute, so why not share them with fellow enthusiasts and you could find yourself winning some fantastic prizes.
The ilovesailing Facebook photo and video competition does just what it says on the tin. Whether you’re a sailor or a windsurfer, simply post your photos or videos on the ilovesailing Facebook page demonstrating why you love windsurfing. Each month we will choose a winner who will receive a Go Pro Surf Hero 2 camera from Action Camera and what is fast becoming the must have of 2012…. the ilovesailing rubber duck. The monthly runner up will also receive get a duck!
As a monthly winner you’ll then also qualify for the grand final to be held at the PSP Southampton Boat Show in September, when the overall winner will claim a whole host of fantastic prizes. The winners prize haul includes; a Neilson beachclub holiday with FREE watersports and tuition – including sailing, windsurfing, waterskiing, wakeboarding and kayaking; a day of personal coaching with a top coach, a Skandia Team GBR goodie bag and an ilovesailing rubber ducky signed by the 2012 Team GB Olympic sailors.
Now in its second year the competition was re-launched at the start of March, when Olympic medallist Paul Goodison joined the ilovesailing team at the RYA Volvo Dinghy Show to officially declare the 2012 competition open. Paul commented: “Obviously there are some fantastic prizes up for grabs, but it’s also a great way to get to have a look at other people’s photos and videos and see why they love sailing.
“Why not get involved.”
Graham Manchester, who manages the ilovesailing competition, went on to say: “So far we’ve had some fantastic entries, but we would love to see more windsurfers getting involved and sharing their photos and videos.”
“With some 157 people having liked the page and the weekly caption competitions, where you can win yourself the coveted rubber duckie, the site has plenty for you to get involved with.”
The ilovesailing Facebook competition is a real celebration of what we all love about sailing and windsurfing through videos and photos. From the inspirational and aspirational, to the beautiful and the funny, whatever it is that makes you love this great sport then why not post it on the site.
