Eberhard von Osterhausen, company founder of Gun Sails, has died in an accident. On 15th August 2004, Eberhard von Osterhausen lost his life in a tragic plane crash.

Shortly after starting out, his private aeroplane crashed for reasons that are still unexplained. Every rendered assistance was too late for Eberhard, who was alone in the plane.

Nearly 20 years ago, the self-made man Eberhard von Osterhausen – called “Ebi” by everybody, founded the company Gun Sails and started by selling windsurf sails using the direct mailing system.

Thanks to his fascination for the sport of windsurfing and his abounding energy, Eberhard von Osterhausen built the company up to be a constant force in the windsurfing scene.

His special attention was always in the design and the further development of his products. Even in the most difficult situations, his optimism remained and he was able to hold his ground and he never lost sight of his long-term aims.
