The 2004 PWA Canadian Freestyle World Cup Day 2
The wind failed to materialize here on the second day of the 2004 PWA Canadian Freestyle world Cup. Although the forecast failed to live up to the predicted 20-knot breezes, the outlook for the weekend is calling for southwesterly gales with winds forecast 25-30 knots.
Yesterday saw a thrilling day of freestyle action at the Lagune du Havre aux Basques with Daida Moreno (Mistral, North) picking up the first victory in the single elimination final against her sister Iballa (Mistral, North). Karin Jaggi (F2, Arrows) also posted an excellent performance taking third place ahead of Silvia Alba (JP, Neil Pryde) of Spain who took fourth.
It’s been a chill out day here in the Magdalene Islands with the girls taking a deserved rest after four days on the road followed by two days of radical freestyle action. With two days remaining here at the final event on the women’s freestyle tour the battle is wide open for the podium positions in both this event and for the 2004 overall freestyle rankings. Be sure to check out the PWA website www.pwaworldtour.com for all the news, pictures and results brought to you daily from here in Canada.
