A really good result for the UK’s Keith Atkinson at the Calema Midwinters, Florida, where he finished 4th overall ahead of fellow Brit’s Ross Williams (UKWA FW Champion 2004) & Nick Dempsey (IMCO Olympic Bronze Medalist).

F2 takes the podium of the Calema Midwinters, along with WindWing/Gulftech
taking a 2nd and a bullet in two classes!!!

Before heading to the race site this morning i checked the weather
forecast that had been right on for the past two days and it wasn’t
showing any better for today than yesterday. So i didn’t have much hope
for getting any racing in today. I really wanted a couple more to try to
go for the victory, but probably not as much as Antione wanted another for
a throwout to probably move back into the lead. Arnon, Woijtek and Peter
were feeling the same as they were all sitting on an OCS as well, keeping
them from fighting for the top 5.

But the wind just didn’t give us that chance. There was a brief hope at
one moment as the race committee called us out to the start line claiming
8-9knots. But it was gone by the time we finally got there. By 2pm it was
obvious that nothing would happen and they called it to give us a chance
to pack up before the Award Ceremony. One bright spot was that it was a
very warm and sunny day.

So The 2005 Calema Midwinters came to an end with the final Overall
results as follows.
1st. Gonzalo Costa Hoevel
2nd. Devon Boulon
3rd. Seth Besse
4th. Keith Atkinson
5th. Ross Williams
6th. Nik Dempsey
7th. Wilhelm Shurman
8th. Mike Percy, for WindWing/Gulftech at 50 years old won the
Grandmasters while finishing 8th overall. Not to bad:)

Top Pro’s Antoine Albeau, Arnon Dagan, Woijtek Brzozowski, and Peter Bijl
unfortunately were forced to settle for 11th 12th, 13th and 14th counting
their OCS’s.
