AHD UK Team Riders Terry Luxton and Chris Murray make it a double victory at the 1st UKWA Freewave event of 2005 held at Gwithian/Marazion, Cornwall over the Easter Weekend.

In an event that saw less than favourable conditions over the four days of competition it was both Terry in the Pro Men and Chris in the Youths that made their presence felt on the water and with the Judges. Their victory came on the first day of competition when the judges decided to move the event from Gwithian on the North Coast across to Marazion on the South Coast.

With small swell and light to moderate cross onshore winds both Terry and Chris won their opening heats and securing their places in their respective finals. But as the day went on the winds all but disappeared and the competition put on hold.

"I thought it was going to be another one of those almost competitions", commented Terry, "but then just as the Judges where thinking of calling it for the day, the wind came back and we were able to run the finals, and I was able to make the most of the conditions and take the win!"

On winning the Youths Chris Murray added "Stoked! There was a strong field of Youths competing here and I had to sail hard all the way to till the final hooter sounded."

"This is a great start to the season for the team", said Richard Marsh of AHD UK, "its especially great as Terry only signed to AHD the week before the competition! The guys are both extremely talented sailors, the FS101 performed superbly in the conditions at times it seemed to float over the surface enabling the guys to execute some truly first class manoeuvres. AHD wishes them ever success for the year ahead".
