AXBRIDGE ANIMALS STAR IN DVD
Nick Dempsey and his gold-medal-winning other half, Sarah Ayton, visited
Axbridge to help with the making of a film promoting windsurfing to kids.
The RYA is producing two films, to be distributed on DVD, designed to
introduce sailing and windsurfing to as many young people as possible as
part of their On Board initiative. They chose the Axbridge Animals at
BCYC to participate in the production because the club has a great Team
15 set up, excellent facilities and a fun atmosphere.
Nick, seen here with an unusually tidy-looking bunch of Animals (decked
out in kit provided by production sponsors Henri Lloyd), came
along to talk to the Animals on film about windsurfing, to explain how
he got involved in the sport and came to be one of the best in the world.
Victoria Lenz, the RYA’s Sailing Development Officer said:
“BCYC is actively engaged with the RYA, helping to develop youth
sailing, and their friendly club was an ideal venue for us to cover both
the sailing and windsurfing elements of the programme.”
The RYA is making a big push to get more kids involved through
initiatives like Team 15 and On Board and the Animals had a laugh
bringing their own brand of enthusiasm to the production. Look out for
it shortly.
