SWA FESTIVAL 2005

SWA Festival 2005

The Student Windsurfing Association (SWA) Festival, more affectionately known as the Aussie Kiss, attracts more than 500 student windsurfers of all abilities each year.  By far the largest windsurfing event of its kind in the UK (and probably the world), windsurfers in their droves will once again set out from across Britain to converge on Roadford Lake on the 22/23rd October this year.

The SWA co-ordinates university windsurfing clubs as far apart as Falmouth and Glasgow and thousands have caught the student windsurfing bug during its short existence.

With approximately seven core events in the SWA calendar, this year kicks off in splendid fashion at Roadford with accommodation and entertainment provided at Bude Holiday Park.

As the blurb on their website reads: “Watch out, this year it’s all about the beginner: whether you’ve never stepped on a board before, you’re a beach starting/flare gybing nymphet, or a water starting/freestyling pro, the aim is to take you to the next level and blow your fears out of the water!”

With tuition from the likes of Jem Hall and Jim Collis, demo kit from all the top brands, prizes, a party and much more it is an event that no student can afford to miss.
