Samsung Mobile Indoor Windsurfing 2006 – Ghent, Belgium
The PWA adds another exciting stop to the 2006 tour calendar with the second indoor event of the season. The Samsung Mobile Indoor Windsurfing brings the world’s best indoor windsurfers back to an urban arena, this time to the city of Ghent, Belgium. After the sensational show at the London Boat Show earlier this year, the Samsung Mobile Indoor Windsurfing event will undoubtedly provide another mind-blowing display of indoor sailing, taking the level further up once again.
On the 15th and 16th of April, the PWA takes over the Flanders Expo in Gent, where windsurfing’s finest athletes will battle it out for € 50,000 of prize money divided over freestyle, slalom and jumping. At 80 x 40 meters and with 30 high powered fans, the Flanders Expo hall features an even bigger pool than the one in London, giving the riders more space to go faster, higher and bigger in front of the crowds. After the unprecedented double forwards in London, one can only wonder what the sailors will think of next.
The Samsung Mobile Indoor Windsurfing event is expected to become a regular stop on the PWA World Tour in years to come, making an important contribution to the growth of the professional windsurfing tour.
