Head “Downwind in Dahab” with Neilson
Neilson is launching its new active centre in
Team riders sponsored by Fat Face, along with qualified Neilson instructors will spend the week providing a comprehensive watersports and mountain bike clinic available to all Neilson guests at the Coralia Club Dahab. The aim is for all participants to reach a level whereby they can then join a team of four, each one also including a pro, in order to take part in the big downwinder!
The competition itself will consist of a simple downwind kitesurf to a sandbar, a transition to windsurf kit for a blast down the speed course to the dinghy pick up point, a simple round the buoys sailing loop then back up wind by mountain bike to base. In true adventure style, the teams will be timed around the course and the clock stops when the last member crosses the line. It’s a team thing though so there’ll be prizes not just for the fastest but also for elements such as teamwork and most improved individual.
Dahab is the perfect location for such an event. In recent years it has become a paradise for windsurfers and divers, whilst the sheltered bays and lagoons offering up to 300 days a year of consistent winds enable kitesurfers and sailors to make the most of the dramatic coastline as well. Those seeking to explore the area can take advantage of Neilson’s top spec bikes in order to head off along the Sinai coast.
The “Downwind in Dahab” week costs £565 per adult travelling on 8th May 2006. The price includes return flights from Gatwick (Manchester at a supplement), resort transfers, 7 nights accommodation on a flexible half-board basis (breakfasts plus lunch or dinner daily), all dinghy sailing, mountain biking and windsurfing equipment with full RYA tuition plus the “Downwind in Dahab” event itself.
