Day Three 10.50
With three rounds gone and the possibility of the first discard approaching, there are anxious competitors here waiting for a sea breeze to kick in this afternoon. The first two days and three rounds have seen similar thermal wind action with large sails being the call.
Sitting in pole position overnight is Kevin Pritchard (US-3 Starboard / Maui Sails), and brother Matt Pritchard (US-10 Tabou /Gaastra) in second. Matt is sitting in the perfect position to pressure his sibling as he tries to claw his world title back for a third consecutive year.
With only three sailors making all three finals so far, it’s tight at the top. Consistency for Peter Volwater (H-24 F2 / North Sails) see’s him in 3rd place approaching the possibility of the first discard. Antoine Albeau in 10th place is particularly looking forward to a fourth round and the chance to earn this discard. Have a look at the elimination 4 ladderto see the seeding for the fourth round.
