JO WHILEY JOINS CROWDS AT 7TH ANNUAL WINDFEST

Radio star Jo Whiley joined thousands of beach-goers at this year’s Animal WindFest event at Sandbanks, Poole to enjoy the many land and sea-based activities now synonymous with this annual extreme sports four-day event.

Tipped by many die-hard WindFest-goers as the best one yet, and despite little wind to excite the many professional and amateur wind and kitesurfers, there was plenty going on beach-side to keep the crowds cheering. Seen for the first time at WindFest and proving a huge crowd puller, was the Wakeboard Pool Cap Slider demonstration – an invitational showcase wakeboard event taking place in two man-made pools on the beach with a slider ramp in between – which particularly interested Jo Whiley and her family, who are keen wakeboarders themselves.

Organiser Gary Willingham, of FCWatersports, was pleased with the event once again. He says; “The momentum simply builds and builds for WindFest, the numbers increase and yet the great atmosphere and upbeat spirit doesn’t change, which is the best news. To attract big league names like Jo Whiley along with thousands of general public across the four days we must be doing something right. The wakeboarding event proved a hit and this will be developed further for next year so watch this space for plenty of improvement yet!”

The event happened due to the support of the many sponsors and contributors including Animal, Breeze Volkswagen, FCWatersports, Fire 107.6FM, Poole Tourism, Braun, and FJB Hotels.
