For anyone wanting to witness the ultimate in windsurfing, South West Ireland
is the place to be from 4-13 October 2001 where there will be 10 days of wave
action culminating in the Ireland Wave 2001, a PWA World Tour Grand Prix at
Brandon Bay, Castlegregory, County Kerry.
If conditions are anything like they were last year, both competitors and spectators
are going to have their minds taken well beyond their comfort zones…
The immediate impact area encompasses the villages of Brandon, Cappagh, Cloghane,
Kilcummin, Stradbally, Castlegregory, Fahamore and Kilshannig, with a spillover
to Dingle Town.

Sports Media Ireland (SMI) in association with the Irish Windsurfing Association
(IWA) is hosting an Open International Wave Sailing event for sailors from all
around the world to compete for up to 8 places in the Ireland Wave 2001, a PWA
World Tour Grand Prix.

The Festival will wrap around the 2 above events with beach activities and
evening entertainment to include:
- A hot tub on the beach each day
- Windsurfing freestyle demonstrations
- WOWI demonstration (Women of Windsurfing Ireland)
- Watersports classes for beginners (windsurfing, surfing, diving, sailing,
etc.) - Commercial Village in Castlegregory
- Beach competitions
AND the pubs in the locality are LEGENDARY
