Young Irish windsurfer Mikey Clancy hit the headlines in Ireland last week when he made the front page of the Irish Newspapers, which captured him windsurfing at Dollymount in Dublin .
Ireland has been hit by a lot of depressions and storms over the past month, and 16 year-old Mikey who lives beside the beach has taken every opportunity to sail.
Mikey, who is hoping to become a professional windsurfer when he leaves school, finished second in the Irish Junior Championship and 10th Overall in the men’s Championships.
He’s planing to head off to Cape Town for some winter training, where he’ll take part in some competitions to prepare for the coming season at home. Mikey is also hoping to compete in the Prokids Freestyle Championships in Bonaire in August.
Mikey is sponsored by Starboard Severne O’Neill Chinook G-Sport Fins and Wind and Wave. Check out more about him and take a look at the latest pictures and videos on his website.
