NOTTINGHAM SAILBOARD CLUB TO BE WOUND UP

Public Notice – Nottingham Sailboard Club

Notice of a general meeting of committee and ex members of Nottingham Sailboard Club to discuss winding up & dissolution of the Club at National Water Sports Centre, Adbolton Lane, Holme Pierrepont, Nottingham, NG12 2LU on Tuesday 10th April 2007 at 7.30pm.

Note: Nottingham Sailboard Club has been inactive for about 10 years, it is sad as it is probably one of the oldest windsurfing clubs in the world, and at its peak had up to 400 members, but lack of water and activity has meant all on the committee feel that it was time it was wound up.

Just to make it clear this is not Nottinghamshire County SC, which is still thriving with over a hundred and twenty windsurfing members and three hundred dinghy members. (in fact many windsurfers who are still active in the area sail at Notts County). We have excellant socials, including monthly BBQs in the summer and our windsurfing dinners attract 70 or so, along with Team 15 and up to 20 active Raceboard sailors (yes we still have a fleet!), and Richard Potter and many other freesailors.
