JP SLALOM GENERATION IV

GENERATION IV – WHEN SECOND JUST ISN’T GOOD ENOUGH!

JP have launched their latest generation of race machines. Here’s what they say:

Our motto “ ready to race” has never been more true. These are no toys but genuine competition boards, that let you prove just how good you really are on the race course.

Since Micah joined the JP team radical changes took place with the Slalom board range. He proved it on the race course by winning the world cup event in Sylt. We also won various magazine tests.

Micah’s ideas were always very clear and his professional approach helped us to improve the top speed across the range in various conditions by an impressive average of 5 km/h (2 knots).

No matter if we were testing in Cape Town, Maui, sea or fresh water. We were all stunned by the big step forward – this new generation makes a place on the podium as good as done.

Top speed is the base for winning races but it takes more than that. Easy jibing and rapid acceleration out of the turn are also key factors. The new boards allow the rider to really lay the sail down and commit to the turn, maintaining the speed whilst even accelerating on the exit.

The generation IV is based on the proven design fundamentals in the successful generation III line. Breaking away from the radical short board idea and focusing on a constant volume distribution for perfect balance and forgiveness in maneuvers.

We’ve bolstered the line up adding a fifth board to ensure every rider can find the perfect match to his size and wind range.

Refined bottom curves individually adjusted for each size ensures there is no compromise in control when the conditions become rough and choppy. Even the strongest gust only lets the nose rise slightly as the board instantly accelerates leveling itself out as if running on autopilot. This feature gives you the opportunity to power past your competitors as they have sheet out to gain control, not capitalizing on the potential speed advantage of the gust. The Tail Cut-Outs are adjusted to the requirements of each size. Different sizes on each board for the perfect mix of control and loose water position. The smallest size comes with no Cut-Out and the size increases constantly towards the bigger models.

Essential for high-speed runs is a relaxed stance. The new rail shape improved the comfort under the feet, cutting down on exhaustion while sailing.

Micah: “As much as I love the third Generation I am really looking forward to get the Generation IV boards on the race course!”

The Slalom IV range comprises the following models (sizes are widths, not volumes!). 54, 60, 68, 76, 84.  Check them out at your nearest JP dealer now or online at the JP website.
