Keith Atkinson wins FELIXSTOWE ‘Sports Personality of the Year Award’.
He’s only gone and done it again! Keith has just received yet another sports award, this time he is the Felixstowe ‘Sports Personality of the Year’.
Keith received his award at a prize giving ceremony In Felixstowe on 17th March.
Keith said “I am thrilled to be presented with another award, I didn’t expect it at all, it’s brilliant to be recognised in my new home town in just my first year as a resident. It’s a great place to live and so good for windsurfing, I can’t imagine living anywhere else now”.
His move to Felixstowe in 2007 was the beginning of a boost in the promotion of the sport of windsurfing in the region. It saw not only the formation of his Windsurfing Academy but also Keith Atkinson being the driving force behind ‘XTREMEFEST’ 2007, Felixstowe’s first extreme sports event. His aim was to target the area’s youth with the object of channelling their energies into sport and away from the less welcome temptations that they are exposed to today.
He intends to increase his efforts and use the profile of the Felixstowe ‘Sports Personality of the Year’ Award to create more awareness of the sport of windsurfing in his hometown.
Keith would like to thank his sponsors: Starboard, Physioactive, DaKine, Marlow Ropes and Next Generation, without them he would not have been able to achieve what he has done so far.
