We’ve been working hard getting everything sorted for the weekend. We now have all the the UK importers who supply the shop ready and prepared to be in attendance with the latest kit and the Barbeques have been stoked, we just need YOU to turn up to make all the hard work worth it!  With plenty of toys for you to look at, touch and try… maybe buy… why wouldn’t you want to make the short trip to the coast to have a go…?  Remember, Aberdovey is a fantastic flat water location for sailors and a great little village with plenty for friends and families to do.

In addition to the windsurfing action there will be a ruck of SUPs for those of you who haven’t yet had the opportunity to have a go to have a play on. Boards will be available from Starboard, Oshea and Mistral – give it a go you might just like it!

With all the new toyz on tap for you to have a play with you’ll probably be thinking that the weekend just couldn’t get any better… then you’d be forgetting the Third round of the JP / Neilpryde UKWA Slalom Series which is taking place over the same weekend at Aberdovey. To enter the slalom event will cost you just £40, but for this you will get all of the following:

• Your own National sail number
  
• Free talks from Dave White on speed and generally go fast, Xavier Ferlet on the technical aspects of racing and for the young and lady sailors in attendance we have Tanya Saleh, who will be giving tips on technique over grunt…

If you’re sailing back and forth and at least trying to gybe then slalom racing will be great fun for you and something you should definitely try out; and the welcoming atmosphere of this Series provides a fantastic opportunity to get afloat.

It’s important to remember that this year has seen some radical changes to the National Slalom Series, making it more accessible and enjoyable to the recreational sailor and first time competitor.  The events have been set up around local retailers and their valued customers and they have been planned to offer as much value for your entry fee as possible. In addition to all the above benefits there will be on-the-spot prizes, so every new entrant will get something – from harness lines to uphauls!
