The UK Windsurfing Association use Eastbourne Extreme as the setting of one leg of their
National Cup and Freewave Series.
A judge has been appointed for Freewave 3 and competitors can look forward to some exciting competition. Our Chairman has promised to ‘sail them till they drop’ with an early briefing at 9.45am on Saturday. Eastbourne promises to offer near perfect conditions for Freewave; competitors can be assured of a warm and friendly welcome at the UKWA Race Office and an Extreme Sports Festival to remember.
Following on from the success of Bridlington the UKWA Cup Series moves to Eastbourne. With all results still possible there is plenty of competition to be had at this prestigious event. All UKWA fleets will be raced and we look forward to welcoming a larger than normal fleet of Kona sailors. Traditionally the public have supported the Festival and this is your opportunity to showcase our sport. Registration will be from 8am Saturday morning, with a briefing at 9.45am.
The event will also host the Acutel Challenge Trophy, this is for a ‘challenge race’ which means anyone could win. Last year saw some of our younger Techno sailors take to the water on Formula kit with enormous sails in an effort to upstage the established front runners! Open to all, the Acutel Challenge once again promises to be an exciting climax to the event.
Showers and toilets will be available adjacent to the event site and there is plenty of grass for rigging.
