BEN AINSLIE HELPS SAS SAIL INTO CYBERSPACE
Friday 1 March. Perranporth Beach. North Cornwall

Surfers Against Sewage (SAS), one of the UK’s leading environmental pressure
groups, will relaunch their exciting new-look website on Friday, 1 March at
1.00pm with the help of Olympic Gold Medallist, Ben Ainslie.

“Anyone who enjoys water sports will know how important it is for the
water we use to be clean and pollution free. Without organisations like SAS,
water users would not have a voice and our water environment would still be
seen as a bottomless dustbin for our waste. I am delighted to be able to help
SAS take their message to an even wider audience by relaunching their website”.
– Ben Ainslie

The new SAS website will be launched from the top of Chapel Rock, Perranporth
on the North Cornish Coast. Chapel Rock stands around 30ft above the beach and
represents a unique photographic opportunity.

Key features of the new site will be a private SAS members only area; with
an e-zine style online magazine, exclusive articles and photos. Improved communication
channels with academia and the public provide an excellent educational resource
and improved usability.

Immediately after the launch ceremony there will be further photo and interview
opportunities inside the Watering Hole Beach Bar which is approx. 400m away.
Put your questions to SAS Campaign Director, Vicky Garner, Olympic Gold Medalist,
Ben Ainslie and Web Designer, Toby Parkin, as well as some of the UK’s top surfers.

There will be an evening launch party in the Watering Hole with entertainment
organised by SAS productions starting at 8.00pm.

“The SAS website has become an invaluable tool to the campaign. As well
as enabling us to spread the word about our achievements, ideas, events and
products to a global audience, it has become an information resource for anyone
who cares about the state of our water environment and who wants to do their
bit to make a difference”. – Vicky Garner Campaign Director, SAS

Footnote: In response to an ever growing demand from the public, SAS are planning
to produce the definitive water users resource in the form of a web based map.
The map will provide the discerning water user with easy to access information
on water quality around the coast of England and Wales, pulling together details
of industrial as well as sewage discharges and giving the public the information
they need in order to make an informed choice about when and where they go in
the water. SAS are currently looking for a sponsor for this essential web based
resource.
