Mikey Clancy rubs shoulders with the legendary Bjorn Dunkerbeck
Dungarvan ISWC Production Worlds The world’s top speed sailors are now rigged and poised for action for the World Production Speed World Cup at the speed strip in Dungarvan, Co. Waterford, Ireland. The event runs until Friday December 5th. With no wind so far it was time to rig and put the customary stickers on sails and enjoy the sunny but frosty scenic event site at St Agustines Church at Dungarvan’s harbour. Rubbing shoulders with the legend Bjorn Dunkerbeck (who had two caddies) in tow, Anders Bringdal and Cyril Muossilmani (who leads the tour) gives the event the world status it deserves. Event organiser Martin Waldron and Dungarvan Harbour Sailing Club are to be commended for bringing over 50 top sailors to compete in the Formula 1 of windsurfing. Local interest will no doubt surround the Irish windsurfers taking part. John ‘JK’ Kenny, Martin Waldron, Oisin Van Gelderen, and the event’s youngest entrant, 18 year-old Mikey Clancy.
