Club Vass HISC Round Hayling Island Event 2009
Hayling Island Sailing Club is bursting with pride about the much-welcomed resurrection of the all-time classic Round the Island windsurfing event. They’re also very pleased to announce that the main sponsors for the event are none other than Club Vass, one of the premier windsurfing holiday companies with centres dedicated to both first class tuition and your holiday enjoyment.
The Round the Island windsurfing event will take place on 10 April 2009, which is Good Friday of the Easter Weekend.
This event is open to all abilities, and HISC actively encourage beginners and experts alike. All you need is a board and sail to join in.
It starts and finishes from the beach at the Club, which has organised onshore entertainments during the day that culminate in a huge party in the evening – so bring your families to the Club and spend the day.
HISC offers a huge range of facilities to accommodate you and your family. There’s a flotilla of support craft to look after you whilst you enjoy both Chichester and Langstone Harbours.
Organisers have put in place three event courses to accommodate beginners and experts. A Bronze Fleet will look after beginners, and will sail up to Emsworth and back to the Club. The Silver Fleet will sail from the Club to the Ferry Boat Inn at the mouth of Langstone Harbour, and the Gold Fleet will sail all the way around.
Worried about not making it round? No need. There will be Pick Up Points around the course that offer participants the opportunity to stop off at one of the Safety Areas on the Island where they can be collected and taken back to the Club.
The entry fee for the event is £25.00, and this includes event entry, a drink and barbeque voucher, and entry to the evening party. Numbers are being limited to 150 so please if you are thinking of entering get your entry in early. Come along and bring your families – it’s going to be a great event to take part in!
