Mark Saul, the local RYA ONBoard officer for Mid Sussex, is running windsurfing taster sessions for local schools and groups during National Windsurfing Week.
National Windsurfing Week, which runs from Saturday 2nd May, has the aim of trying to encourage as many people as possible to try out the sport of windsurfing.
The sessions will take place at Lagoon Watersports’s Hove Lagoon venue, a perfect safe place for newcomers as the lagoon is just three feet deep.
Lagoon Watersports have generously provided the venue, additional instructors and all of the equipment completely free of charge for the sessions.
Hove YMCA, Whitehawk Primary, St Marys Catholic Primary Portslade, and the Crew Club in Whitehawk are all signed up, with more expected to follow.
Mark said: “Windsurfing is such a great sport to learn and perfect for kids as well. With a little bit of instruction on dry land they can soon be in the water and sailing around.”
Giving local children and groups the opportunity to try windsurfing completely free of charge is great for the sport!
Lagoon Watersports offers windsurfing lessons for all levels and abilities, plus recognised RYA qualifications. To find out more information about Windsurfing with Lagoon Watersports visit www.lagoon.co.uk or call 01273 42 48 42.
