As part of the UK’s second National Windsurfing Week, windsurfers in Weymouth are getting together to form a new Weymouth Windsurfing Association.

The aims of the group are to protect and promote windsurfing in Weymouth & Portland – which in 2012 will be the venue for the Olympic windsurfing events. They hope the club will give windsurfers a voice when local decisions are made, and at the same time help increase participation in the sport.

To celebrate the launch of the club they are holding an inaugural BBQ and social event at Ferry Bridge Beach on Friday 8th May from 6.30pm onwards (relocating to the Ferry Bridge Pub if the weather is bad).
