A quick note to bring to your attention that a number of the weathercams,
that were previously run by Boatastic / Boathow are now back online, and
are "Free of Charge". The new service, sponsored by SeaSprite Sports
(www.seaspritesports.com), distributors of RRD Boards & Kites, Ezzy Sails
and Streamlined Mast Foot Systems is facilitated by Oggle Ltd 9
www.oggle.com ) who are the providers of the WeatherCam technology platform.
As David Blakemore, MD of SeaSprite Sports commented "RRD / Ezzy are happy
to be able to provide one of the most popular Weather services available
on the Internet, we realised that many people missed the service and hope
that with the new season underway people will once again be able to
determine what the conditions are like at many of the most popular sailing
venues in the UK, with hopefully no more wasted trips down to the Coast!"
It should be noted that the locations are primarily aimed at key Wind /
Kite surfing locations, however we do realise that apart from those that
yearn for 20knts plus there are many more water users who once again will
be able to determine if the conditions are right for them.
The new service will launch this Saturday, June 22nd , though you can view
all the sites now which are frequently uploading on a "test" basis.
Immediately available will be Weymouth, Poole, Hayling Island, Worthing
and Hunstanton, with additional cams & weather data from West Wittering,
courtesy of 2XS.co.uk, currently Lee on Solent is only able to provide
weather data, but hopefully both West Kirby and Lee on Solent will be back
online very soon providing you with a unique service.
The service is available from www.seaspritesports.com – click either the
EZZY or RRD logos – which will then take you to each "site" where
you can
view reviews, and see great pictures from their product portfolio – to
view the WeatherCams follow the navigation found in the right hand panel.
The sites are optimised for 800×600 resolution and feature a degree of
rollover imagery and java "movies" with some great imagery from the
RRD /
EZZY gallery.
Please remember to use the service in conjunction with the forecasts, of
which plenty, though sometimes not accurate can be sourced across the
Internet – from the home page of the WeatherCams you’ll find links to the
popular 3 day Met Office animation which should provide you with a good
idea of weather patterns as well as tidal data for all relevant locations.
So whether you’re heading South, East, West or North be sure to check the
conditions before you travel.
For those of you interested in product demo’s of RRD / EZZY Windsurfing
