Live Webcast from PWA Windsurfing World Tour in a ground-breaking move,
the Professional Windsurfers Association announced today that the opening
Wave Grand Prix of the season will be broadcast live from Gran Canaria.

With its’ revolutionary technology, Narrowstep Inc, the TV on the Internet

specialists, will be providing a platform for this coverage through their
recently launched website.

This is not just a webcast at the usual "webcast quality" however,
there are different formats that the programming can be viewed in, though
the best quality is achieved using a Broadband connection which is
geared for.

Sportshows TV, the PWA’s Television partners will be providing the live
coverage, which is a test for further broadcasts from the PWA Tour later
this year. It will be a full-on live show with expert windsurfing
commentators watching the worlds’ best action as it happens. With
presenters, interviews and post action comments from the sports top stars,
this is a revolutionary new way to cover the sport and bring into the
homes of every windsurfing fan worldwide.

The PWA Vargas Grand Prix will be broadcast live from the beach in Vargas
on Gran Canaria’s east coast, with a two-hour live show planned for the
afternoons of Saturday 3rd May and Sunday 4th May, starting around 2pm
local time subject to conditions.

and interest there is in professional windsurfing worldwide. I think
people will be surprised at being able to see the best in the world going
for it and know it’s happening in real time".

Sportshows TV Managing Director Clifford Webb said, "We’ve been covering

windsurfing for many years now, but this is the first real opportunity to
show the sport live, as it happens. We’ll produce 12 x 25 minute programs
on the world tour this year for international distribution, but being able
to cover this wave contest from Gran Canaria in 30 knot winds and with
double loop attempts happening it’s going to be just wild".
