With a much more dynamic interface, we can now post daily news an pictures from all that happens in this corner of the world.
Speaking of News, we are proud to announce that Clube dos Ventos is now a part of the Vela network. Jericoacoara becomes Vela’s 8th resort, and the first in the southern hemisphere. So expect the same friendly folks and first class service that you find in Aruba, Baja, Cabarete, Margarita, Coche, Los Roques and Maui... now in Brazil too!
Our new center is totally ready, and the large and comfortable infrastructure, together with the dedication of our staff, and the latest JP/Neilpryde equipment is producing smiles in every single client.
Along with all the investment in infrastructure and staff training is also a lot of custom developed technology, focused in providing comfort, safety, and information: after the client checks-in at our reception, all departments will already have his account open, so there is no need to carry money around. Wether he has a meal at the restaurant, a massage, a drink at the bar or takes a new harness from the shop, all he has to do is sign a printed slip, and only pay a consolidated bill at departure, with any major credit card.
Our technology also takes care of the client's safety. Rather than a clipboard, we use a custom designed software to log every time a customer takes or returns any equipment from the racks. So we know precisely, who is out, and using what, in any moment of the day. Every 30 minutes, the system prints a "binocular report" for the staff member in charge of water-surveillance. we believe that more important than having the proper means of rescue, is to be able to pinpoint that somebody might be needing help, no matter how many clients we are handling.
The log extracted from this safety system is also useful to provide better guidance to our clients on choosing the right equipment, as the clients have available at the center, in real-time, information about the most used size of board or sail of the day, together with detailed graphs and reports about the wind speed, directly from our own digital weather-station. All this data is also made available in our new website: just go to http://www.clubedosventos.com/wind , and you can see all that's going on with the wind in Jericoacoara. We also have the wind reports posted by our staff, and another innovation: "The Caipirinha Wind Reports..." This is a special wind report posted directly by our clients at happy hour, where they tell their version of how was the day. The first sailor to arrive at happy-hour writes the report, and gets a free Caipirinha...
And for those of you who are our booking partners around the world, you need not to concern about the clients browsing our website: thru geographic IP detection technology, any time a client clicks on the [TRAVEL] or [BOOK NOW] links available on the website, our server will detect from which country he is connected, and forward him to a page with all your contact information. Clients can only reach our direct booking form if they are surfing the web from a country that does not have a partner travel agent. We believe that great results are only achieved with teamwork, and we at no moment intend to undercut the important work done by all our booking partners around the globe, by trying to get the client to book directly with us.
Speaking of bookings, you will very soon receive great news about our new booking system. We have teamed up with Cebra to provide on-line bookings not only of boards, but also rooms, transfers and all the detail of your client's vacations. So very soon you will be able to answer availability enquiries in real-time, "over the phone" with your clients, making sales faster and more productive. This is under final setup, and should be made available in the next days.
Today is my 37th birthday, and there could be no better gift than achieving, together with my team, so many results in such short time, when we remember that less than a year ago, our beach property was just a raw piece of land...
