Brits On Tour – PWA Pozo

Yes we are back. Back with fresh updates from the windsurfing scene. We will be bringing you news from our Brits on tour, events that are taking place during the peak season and all the latest news and video updates.

To kick things off we have our best wave talent on stand-by in Pozo, Gran Canaria. The boys and girls are on the edge of their seats as competition is set to get underway imminently. So who is representing and who are you cheering on? Let us know in the comments below.

BOYS
Amongst the guys we have some seriously strong contenders in this years event.

Ben Proffitt
A seasoned contender with a host of UK titles under his name, Proffitt has always been an exciting guy to follow both on the water and on the beach. Famed for his training diaries, his humor does the talking on land but once he hits the water the moves do the talking and Proffitt has them all. We have our fingers crossed for him this year and hope to see more ball breaking forwards like this, perhaps with a little less pain for the man himself.

John Skye
As much a Pozo local as the big dawg Philip Köster, Skyeboy has found himself in some of the smaller number places in recent years. His performance on the water is always very consistent with all the latest moves and factored in his 8th overall on the PWA World Tour in 2013. Our bet is that he will make it high up the ranks once again, showing that he still has it despite what any critics might say about age affecting performance.

Adam Lewis
Our youngest offering and second highest ranked Brit on the tour. Adam Lewis is a well known name in the UK and on the World stage. Radical, progressive and powerful he has all the moves to make an impact and could easily make gains at this years event. With such a high level amongst all the riders it will be those that avoid mistakes who will pass. With years in Tenerife, Adam certainly has plenty of time on the water and some seriously solid moves dialled in, including this super stylish shifty.

Robby Swift
Highest ranked Brit on tour, super radical and plenty of style in all his moves. Robby has always been the go to person for Brits on tour. He locks in some of the best results and throws down some of the most punishing moves in many of his heats. On top of this he can regularly be seen ripping up some of the biggest waves in the world and his diversity is right up there. Swift has his sights set on the top this year and we are excited to see what he and the other Brits can do to cause havoc with the ranks.

GIRLS

Sarah Hilder
When it comes to support Sarah Hilder is our only girl representing the UK in Pozo this year, so it’s an easy choice. However, she deserves double support for her history of high ranked results on the UK tour and even international success. Having previously won the UK title she also podiumed in Australia at the WWA Margaret River Wave Competition in 2014 and came 3rd at the Dunkerbeck Eyewear Super Session that same year back in Europe. Mixing a working career with competitive windsurfing we have our fingers and toes crossed for Sarah at the opening event of the 2016 World Tour.
