BWA Cornwall 2011 – Party Preview!

Tommy Armstrong – back by popular demand!

Jim Brooks-Dowsett has the latest news on this weekend’s BWA Pura Vida Cornwall Wave Classic…

As we check out the latest forecast for Cornwall things are looking good, and the registrations are coming in fast! The pros can meet up at the Sandsifter and register on the Thursday night between 8pm and 10pm and for late entries on Friday morning at 9am closing at 9.30 for first heat 10am. We also welcome any amateurs that arrive early to register on Thursday night to speed things up!

The amateur sailors will then be able to register on Friday night from 8pm till 10pm and late entries on Saturday at 9am now closing at 9.30 for first heat at 10.oo. Competition briefing will be at 9.00am each day at Sandsifter unless advertised otherwise. Please check the Facebook group and follow us on Twitter for live updates.

Once again we will be running the coveted team format where the winning team can win a case of Skinners Ale kindly sponsored by the local Skinners Brewery! Scoring is really straightforward, each team of 3 amateur sailors enters the comp as individuals and your results are combined to give you an overall score. The lowest score wins – simples! There will be pro riders on hand to give you advice, and don’t forget to think of a good team name, we encourage all UK shops/suppliers to enter a team, and if you don’t have one we can put you in one on the day to make it more fun!

So Thursday night we’ll be having registration and a few beers, and Friday night the legendary Tommy Armstrong who rocked us out in Tiree will be playing a set at the Sandsifter from 9pm – so come along to register enjoy some drinks and the live music!

Saturday night is the famous Halloween ‘Monsters Ball’ at Sandsifter, and they have kindly offered us discounted tickets that will be available to all riders at registration from the Thursday night. Get your outfits ready…

There are goody-bags for everyone that enters, £1000 prize money for the pros, Pura Vida Custom will be giving away another custom board to an amateur as chosen by the judges and team, No Limitz are giving away a 100% carbon mast and plenty more prizes from the industry and clothing by Franklin & Marshall.

The Cornwall Wave Classic is sponsored by Franklin & Marshall, hosted by Pura Vida Boardriders and the BWA, with support from No Limitz Masts, RB Sails and Sandsifter, with thanks to the National Trust and Duchy of Cornwall.

Hope to see you there, BWA Team & Pura Vida
