Puravida Boardriders present the Caldy Island Relay happening this weekend in Tenby.
It’s been a busy and buzzing month already for windsurfing, and after some great summer demo’s we are on our way to Tenby South Beach this bank holiday for our biggest local event of the year!!
The Caldy Island Relay is being run as always across the last August Bank Holiday on 25th/26th and 27th. Tenby South Beach car park at the Tenby Windsurfing Club is our base of operations for the weekend. There is parking there (get in early for a space) and camping all around tenby as well as plenty of B&B options in the surrounding area.
This will be a fantastic family event with windsurf and SUP gear for all members to enjoy from the kids upwards……
Saturday night BBQ is firmly in place! And the newly opened beach bar and cafe will be running some long hours all weekend, not to mention the famous Tenby night life!!
There will be stacks of demo kit on hand and some ripping pro sailors to join your teams as last year…….each team can win a top sailor in our opening raffle! Some of the confirmed guests already:

The racing format is simple and purely for fun! You can enter in teams of 3 and if you don’t have a team we will put you in to one…….One lap each out to the marker buoy and back – simples! The fancy dress comp is as important to win as the race and we have loads of prizes from our great industry supporters!
As well as the Relay, we will have an expression session looking at the windy conditions predicted! Stacks of free clinic and demo time all weekend, and some more fun racing if the forecast stays in our favour!!
Fanatic/North will be there with Nik Baker on Sunday and Monday to offer some free clinic time, kit advice and stacks of the latest gear for you to try!
J’SUP Manning will be on hand all weekend to offer coaching tips, advice and equipment demos!
Simmer Sails and Boards will be there, as well as some of the Mistral range with helpful tips and rigging advice from legendary Farrel O’shea as well as Kev & Si on the slalom team!
Tushingham and Starboard have joined our regular supporters this year with paul Simmons and their big demo wagon to get you out on the latest kit and join the weekends fun!

The entry for the entire weekend to join the demo and take part in the fun racing and fancy dress comp will be £30 per person. This includes your event T-Shirt and all the proceeds will go to Cancer research. So please help us raise some money for this great cause……
