With some of the Boards team currently residing in Cape Town for February it’s only fair that we dig undercover to bring you what the pros are really up to. So biased blogs and tame tweets aside…
A short update from the pros with more to come next week. Before we get in to the waves let’s look at the freestylers. Let’s face it everyone loves a bit of it and even John Skye was recently spotted on the lake landing bobs, shakas and even switch konos. Despite not keeping their foot in freestyle, these guys show they still have the skill should they ever want to get back in to it. Also spotted were the likes of Max Rowe, showing that the UK has the level to put many of the international guys to shame. Bubble has been on the scene but focusing a lot of time on the waves, that said, he is certainly not letting Max run away. Jamie Drummond has just rocked up and spent an epic day down in Langebaan with Adam Sims. Between them skopus, one handed burners and konos were on the cards.
The waves has been a different story. Phil Horrocks and Jamie Hancock are both training hard, spending a huge amount of time just focusing on finding the best wave spots. Meanwhile John Skye has been testing the new RRD gear hard both on flat water and in the waves. Meanwhile Bubble is uping his game for the coming UK comps and will we see him enter a PWA wave event this year? We will catch up with him to find out more in the coming weeks. Check back here soon for a more updates as our Britpack abroad shred a massive swell that is about to hit Cape Town. For now the crew meet up to celebrate Jamir Drummonds Birthday with a BBQ and beers.
