Editor’s Daily Round-Up – Tuesday 5th May

It’s the start of a new month, the wind is blowing, summer is coming and we’d like to kick off with an update from the Boards team. As many of you will know, Factory Media and Boards have printed the final issue of the magazine meaning going forward all of our coverage, features and more will be online. But we’re not just going to keep things ticking over as they were, we are aiming to make the Boards site bigger and better, with more content that YOU want and in an easier to navigate way.

To start with I’ll be posting daily round-ups, highlighting the best of the site, what’s going on in the world of windsurfing, what we have coming up and more. So your easiest way of making sure you don’t miss anything is to take a quick stop into these daily round-ups.

We’re also taking some inspiration from the old issues, and will be having monthly themes online. This month will be all about speedsailing; from how to choose and tune speed gear, speed equipment testing, location rundowns and more.

We are also introducing/bringing back some regular features including a UK ‘Head’s Up’ – outlining why you should be sailing where this week, more and more Reader’s Pics and Vids, some classic Throwbacks and Behind The Scenes from our testing.

In short, we are hoping to come back to one main focus: helping you make the most of your windsurfing.

We are always looking for feedback from all of our readers as to what you want to see online. Are there features that you love? Or hate? Techniques that you think have been done-to-death? Or others that we’ve missed? Whilst we can’t keep everyone happy all of the time, any feedback is appreciated, will be listened to and we will deliver what we can in response.

We, of course, want to celebrate British windsurfing too and, especially with the wind that’s blowing almost all over the country at the moment, so aside from the Reader’s Pics and Vids if you are a windsurfer, a club, a school, an instructor etc that has a social media page or blog that you’ve updated with your recent windsurfing exploits we would love to hear from you and feature/link through to your page.

The site today is full of stories from a whole range of events held recently, from NWF Junior, to UKWA racing and more from BWA Wales, it certainly seems like things are getting better and better for UK windsurfing in 2015!
