Dave Hackford (Former Raceboard World Champion and GB Olympian Windsurfer at the 1984 games) who was in attendance has also provided this nice quote about the event:
” What a pleasure to have arrived at the start of this windsurfing regatta on Sunday. It has been a while since I have raced competitively and all the reasons why I loved it so much came flooding back. It was sunny, the wind was blowing and the team laughter and competitive spirit was everywhere. Team sports are fantastic – and this interschool championship highlighted the real fun of windsurfing. So much of it is about good technique and watching an eight year old girl fly past a teenage boy was a pleasure to watch. Racing may sometimes look a little daunting, but it really does improve your windsurfing skills quickly – so if you want to have ago I suggest giving the RYA a shout.”
