The World Cup in Klitmøller 2011 is yet again a reality, 12-18 September, and with KIA Import Denmark as title sponsor for KIA@coldhawaii PWA World Cup, things are starting to roll. Cold Hawaii is ready to welcome 48 of the world’s best windsurfers, where they will compete for crucial points for the World Championship title in windsurfing.
After successful publicity last year, and a very good event, KIA had no doubt that they would go for the title sponsorship again this year. Lene Mejdal Iversen from KIA Motors says; “We get lots of good publicity, but we also think it’s pretty cool to be a part of a World Cup in Denmark.”
The car manufacturer is well known for high environmental standards and the director of KIA Import Denmark, Mogens Lyngsø, finds this profile fitting for the expression of windsurfing as a sustainable sport that does not harm the environment. He says, ”The dynamics, the courage, the intensity and the youthful atmosphere that surrounds the sport of windsurfing, reflects many of the same values as felt very strongly by the people at KIA”.
Project Manager Robert Sand from Plasma comments on the collaboration with KIA Import Denmark: “I am thrilled to have KIA Import Denmark as the title sponsor for the event again this year. In KIA we have an ideal partner with some great vehicles, but it also proves to others that the PWA World Cup is a great event to invest in.”
Others also think that the KIA @coldhawaii PWA World Cup is worth investing in. Among others we find Sport Event Denmark who focus on quality and creativity when they get in on different events. There is also a lot of support from the local community – this is the kind of support which makes an event like this possible and sustainable.
