Chris Martin, the front man for JP Australia and NeilPryde here in the UK, is running a half marathon in support of his late mother and her hospice. Any support anyone in the windsurfing world can provide to this worthy cause would be massively appreciated.
Hi Everyone,
I haven’t done this sort of thing before, but I hope this will be the last!
In December my family and I went through a tough, life-changing event when we faced the news that my mother was going to die.
On the 11th of December 2014 my mother passed away with a aggressive form of pancreatic cancer. Her final days and hours where spent at Forest Holme Hospice in Poole, Dorset. Forest Holme is a hospice that provides amazing care for people with life-limiting illness. The team at the hospice where amazing, not only did they treat mum incredibly well but they provided endless amounts of support for our family; I know it just the way mum would have wanted it to be – surrounded by family talking about old times and reliving the funny stories that we shared with each other. Forest Holme provided us with that opportunity.
This is a little plea for help so that Forest Holme can carry on supporting families during these hard and dark times. 50% of the running cost for the home come from local government and 50% comes through charitable donations.
My wife Jane and I, along with friends, are running in the local Bournemouth Half Marathon on Sunday and I would love it if you could spend a little bit of your hard earned cash and support our efforts so we can show thanks to Forest Holme for the amazing support they gave my mum and our family in her last final days. By helping to donate you will provide a much needed service for families who will face a situation like this today, tomorrow or sometime in the future.
Thanks for you time in reading this, I really appreciate any support even if it’s a simple reply with good luck!
