Want to train to become a windsurfing instructor? Here’s the latest news from our friends at the UKSA who have just added a few more improvements to their fantastic Watersports Instructor Training programme.
Essential safeguarding training and further mentoring sessions will make UKSA’s Watersports Instructor Training course better than ever before.
The re-packaged course has been extended to encompass more of what UKSA is known for – industry knowledge sessions, one-to-one mentoring and help with finding work – those extra USPs that as a youth charity UKSA is able to focus on. UKSA has links with some of the biggest employers in the watersports industry around the world, and students benefit from guaranteed interviews with Sunsail, Neilson, Ocean Elements and Mark Warner.
The WIT course now also includes the essential RYA Safeguard Training Certificate. For maximum employability it sees students qualify in teaching four disciplines – dinghy sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and Stand Up Paddleboarding. This helps make students more desirable within the industry.
Chris Frisby, UKSA’s Head of Operations, said: “We are constantly reviewing our courses and updating the content to make them relevant and of high quality. We are looking forward to welcoming our new watersports instructor students in September and preparing them for their careers within this exciting worldwide industry.
“We are proud of the quality of our courses and we constantly strive to put better instructors out into the industry, which gives us a good reputation. Employers are quite rightly picky and only want top quality staff, so we aim to provide well-qualified, reliable and hard-working candidates.“
The 11-week long WIT course is based at UKSA’s headquarters in Cowes on the Isle of Wight. The fees are inclusive of all food and accommodation, enabling students to budget in advance and concentrate on their studies while on campus. The course includes the following qualifications: RYA Dinghy Instructor, RYA Windsurf Instructor, BSUPA SUP Instructor, BCU Foundation Safety and Rescue Training, Powerboat Level 2, RYA First Aid at Sea, and RYA SSR Radio Operators Licence.
