Puravida Boardriders are the first UK Retailer to develop their own APP, which is currently available to download for your iPhone or iPad from the appstore. Jim Brooks developed this in house with a local software designer to get to the latest ‘tried and tested version’ ready for release.
Throughout the entire month of February there will be weekly updates of special offers on boards, sails and masts that will only appear for new users of the APP…..so get it now!

What was the inspiration behind the APP?
Puravida Boardriders is not your average retailer, and are committed to running many events year round as well as supporting the BWA tour. I thought the diary function would be good to get all the dates in one place. From there we got it working with the device to add the details to your own calender! All our calender entries have interactive links like maps to get you there too.
The first thing you see when it opens is News, what’s the story?
We already do a lot of testing and demo’s for our customers, but especially since joining forces with OTC in Weymouth we now have the biggest range of the latest kit to test in any on place in the UK. Our plan is to include mini tests and board comparisons here for people to read. We will also have regular news form our main brands, and info on upcoming events, clinics and promotions.
What about from a sales point of view?
On our website the most popular pages are our ‘special offers’ and contact information, so we thought we’d get all that presented in a simple package on the app. It’s very quick reference and will update weekly, which means we can react more quickly to stock changes and publishing new deals. To celebrate the launch this February we will be having exclusive deals for APP users only……
Who’s it for?
Anyone with an interest in windsurfing and SUP really! We are all busy people trying to fit our hobbies in around work and having the app means you can quickly check the news, deals and event dates instantly without even needing an internet connection! Our staff are able to access the info live with a customer in store or at the beach too which has proved super useful already.
What about Android devices?
We’ve been working on this for over 6 months, and given the iPhone is the most popular device at the moment, not to mention the iPad in most homes, it was decided to develop that first. Over 100 people have used it and we now have our 3rd version released. Before we tweak it any further there will be an android version coming very soon.
