With the PWA Slalom in Fuerteventura now complete it’s over to the freestyle guys and girls to show off their best moves. You can check all the latest from the PWA Fuerteventura event, and watch the live stream, here.
In the freestyle fleet we have a strong contingent of Brits: Oscar Carmichael, Andy Chambers, Adam Sims, Max Rowe and Nic Hibdige. Plus, a former British student Maeli Cherel in the women’s fleet.
Here at Boards, we’ll follow the progress of the Brits through the event, first here’s a pre-event catch up with Adam Sims.
“I’m actually a little apprehensive about competing, I want to do well and show to myself that I can actually pull it together in competition.
“I don’t really care about showing it to anyone else, I just want to prove that I can do it for me. I feel my level is up there when I’m freesailing but I’ve had a lot of bad luck in the past when competing, that hasn’t changed too much as I’m still going into this event with a broken finger… Anyway I’m not nervous, just apprehensive, I want it to start already 🙂
“I’m really happy with my gear setup, I’m finding the spot a bit tricky for getting speed in switch coming in, but I’m happy to hold on to some powerful Sailloft Quads and the all new Patrik Freestyle board. I’ve been training a lot with Oscar Carmichael and Alex Mitchell out here for the last month.
“Exact quiver: 4.0, 4.4, 4.8, 5.2, 5.6 and the 93 and 101l Patrik Freestyle.”
