Some sad news has reached the Boards office, there will be no Scottish Windfest taking place this year; however, the team have promised to be back, bigger and better in 2015!

“I hope you’ll all agree that for the last three years the Windfest has delivered a truly awesome event. Each year has seen the event grow and somehow this bunch of enthusiastic volunteers (some would say crazy) have produced a fairly unique family-friendly beach event.

“So after the 2013 event we have been discussing just how we could continue in the same vein and improve whilst keeping true to the Windfest ethos? The truth is that for 2014 we just don’t think we can… however, what we do think is that 2015 is going to be truly spectacular!

“What this doesn’t mean that we will be resting on our laurels, as this year we are planning to hit the road taking the ‘Windfest on Tour’. These smaller, locally planned days will be a way to showcase the spirit of the Windfest on a beach near you … plus these won’t overshadow the Commonwealth Games or distract people from that vote thing happening up here later in the year!

“Rest assured that this is not the end and we are working very hard to ensure that the 2015 Windfest becomes the benchmark for years to come.
