Over in Fuerteventura some of the world’s top speedsailors are currently battling it out to become the European speed champion, plus take the glory of winning the Dunkerbeck GPS Speed Challenge.
Brits over taking part include the world’s fastest woman Zara David, Jim Crossley, and freestyle guru, speed newbie and Boardseeker editor Adam Sims!
So far it’s Zara Davis that is leading the women’s fleet, holding a couple of knots faster than her nearest competitor Lena Erdil on the lighter days and just keeping ahead of her as the real wind kicks in.
On the men’s side it’s the man himself, Bjorn Dunkerbeck, who is currently taking first with the likes of Anders Bringdal and Jurjen van der Noord hot on his tail.
What’s even better to see is a few young kids, including Dunkerbeck’s son Liam, out on the speed course hitting some great speeds. The future of speedsailling is looking strong!
Full results to come soon, but for now check out this quick edit from Boardseeker and gallery of shots from Zara Davis and the DSC guys:
