As one of the UK’s most highly rated freestyle locations, this could turn out to be a huge highlight in both the UK and European freestylers calendar.
Many of the UK’s finest freestyle talents have been spotted training there over the years but it has grabbed a particular amount of attention during 2011 with it’s barrage of fronts rolling off the Atlantic. The likes of Adam Sims, Max Rowe, Andy ‘Bubble’ Chambers, Jamie Drummond, Ali Nichol and more have all been regular visitors with blog quotes coming out suggesting that on it’s day, it rivals that of any of the best spots in the world.

This would be a huge step for the UK scene as Trevor Funnel has worked hard to grow the tour to support the rapid rise in talent push their limits on the UK stage, and in turn, further afield. With an EFPT event on the south coast this would allow many of the top British riders to try their hand at an international level event after a full year on the UK tour. This, combined with the likes of PWA World Champion, Steven Van Broeckhoven, Davy Scheffers, Dieter Van der Eyken and many more, would make it an event not to miss even if you are just a spectator.

Let’s hope the support and the sponsors can come up trumps. It’s been a long time coming, but could we see an EFPT event on UK shores, to cap off this already incredible Olympic year…
