Summer at Bray Lake

Bray Lake, the thriving watersports club based just outside London is having an incredibly busy summer already and have a lot more planned for the near future…

The Centre has been busy over the last few weeks, with the changeable weather of late, with some excellent windy conditions for those windsurfing and sailing, as well as calmer days for SUPing and kayaking.  There has been enough of a mixture of conditions to keep everyone happy!  So if you haven’t been down lately, why not come along and take advantage of some new kit and, if its been a while since you were out on the water, a bit of coaching. Check out details below for more info.

Coming Up:

River Paddle: On Sunday 8th July we will be paddling along the River Thames. The paddle will be led by Paul who is an enthusiastic kayak instructor, and is open to both non-members and members. Minimum of 1* paddle ability, minimum age 16 years (river trip dependant upon conditions).

Club Trip to Poole:  Intro to coastal sailing for windsurfing, sailing and SUP enthusiasts. Date to be confirmed, register your interest and we’ll keep you up to date.

Club Trip to Dale: Probably our most visited location for windsurfing, although there are opportunities for kayaking, SUPing and sailing too. The date for the next trip have now been set and will be 22nd / 23rd September.

For more information about going to Dale give the Centre a call on 01628 638860 or click here to read more about last September’s trip.

Battlefield Live

The Bray Lake battlefield has now been extended making the area much bigger. The venue has proved really popular for birthday parties, stag and hen parties as well as corporate team building. Battlefield Live is a great way to spend a couple of hours running around the woods, carrying out assignments and missions, whilst trying to remain ‘alive’ and win the day! To find out more about the outdoor laser tag game available at Bray Lake visit Battlefield Live South West London or give us a call for more information on 01628 638860.

Summer Holiday Course

We have been very busy taking bookings for the junior summer holiday courses, with a number of weeks now almost fully booked out.

There are lots of courses for beginners and improvers as well as coaching sessions for the more advanced enthusiasts. Our junior courses are open to 8-15 year olds and generally run Mon – Fri. There are skill specific courses in windsurfing, sailing or paddlesports, full on Watersports Weeks where you do everything and work towards gaining certificates or alternatively there is the Multi-Activity Week where again you give everything a try and gain some of the basic skills ready to move on to the beginner course.

There are options to do single Splash Days, however, these are only available at set times, ring the Centre for dates.

New for this year – Top Up Your Skills – there is now an option to split a week (3 half days)  whereby you can sign up to part of a course to help you finish off a particular stage or level, or just to give you a re-cap ready for this year. Limited availability, call the Centre for more details.

To find our more about all our junior courses at braylake.com/kids-activities or give the Centre a call to book on 01628 638860.
